Crystal Power

I'm missing one ingredient for building crystal power cells: silver.  It doesn't take much, but I still want that key ingredient that the inventor claims makes a world of difference.

What is a crystal power cell?

A crystal power cell is a small fuel cell that is made up of several types of crystalline materials which are mixed together to capture energy from Zero-Point energy using the Casimir Effect (purportedly). They are low-voltage, low amperage cells that when strung together into a battery of cells can become somewhat useful.  How many cells to become useful? That's what I'm about to find out.

My head is spinning here trying to find a way to put this all in proper context to explain this process to you.  They say if you can't explain it to the common person, you don't properly grasp the concept yourself.  Well, That's the thing: no one really can offer you a precise explanation because this stuff is on the frontiers of fringe-science, where everything is theoretical, and everyone is quick to dismiss tangible gains as rubbish.

What is Zero-Point Energy?

There is power all around us. Some physicists refer to this energy as zero-point. Zero-point energy is defined as The energy that exists after reaching absolute-zero. It's the energy field that's all around us: enough power in an empty cup to boil an ocean if it were properly harnessed. Tesla called this Aether, or Ether.  The Ether is a dimension above us, and we can't understand it because we barely can fathom of any dimension above the one we walk in.  (For more info on dimensions, watch Understanding the Ten Dimensions)

What is the Casimir Effect?
The Casimir effect was predicted by the Dutch physicist Hendrick Casimir in 1948.  According to the quantum theory, the a quantum vacuum contains virtual particles which are in a continuous state of fluctuation.  Casimir realized that between two plates, only those virtual photons whose wavelengths fit a whole number of times into the gap should be counted when calculating the vacuum energy.  The energy density decreases as the plates are moved closer, which implies that there is a small force drawing them together. more info (and equations) here.

[I didn't set out to give you a science lesson, but the fundamentals are important if you are going to grasp what these crystal cells are doing exactly.  Bear with me, I'll try to explain this quickly to get on to the crystalline process.]

The Casimir Effect is defined as a small attractive force that acts between two close parallel uncharged conducting plates.  It is due to quantum vacuum fluctuations of the electromagnetic field. as a wavelength passes through the 2 plates, it creates another smaller wavelength that resonates between the two plates. This resonant frequency remains within the two plates and something is captured.

Casimir's observation was that the second-quantized quantum electromagnetic field, in the presence of bulk bodies such as metals or dielectrics, must obey the same boundary conditions that the classical electromagnetic field must obey. In particular, this affects the calculation of the vacuum energy in the presence of a conductor or dielectric.  - Wikipedia

This is not a chemical process!

These cells are crystalline in nature, and they can be shorted out for YEARS without a drop in power. An odd curiosity: they actual retain a higher charge momentarily after being shorted out for a brief time.  

How do they work?

This technology is open-source, so here's a video of someone making and testing these cells for themselves.  I will post my own findings as soon as I have made a few of these to test with:

educating myself on Crystalline power cells that show a lot of promise as a viable power source.  This is really fascinating stuff. I'm putting information up on my personal webspace on my larger site Solar Gridworks ::Solarium::
But wait, Isn't this Solarium? No, this is my blogger blog that I have tethered to the site.  Info pouring in on both sides as I try to update that while struggling with a weak site design, re familiarizing myself with web design elements that I haven't used since 2001 or so (and believe me, code has changed since I last wrote HTML back in IE 4 days!). 
So, It's coming. I can't say when I'll have a polished product, or shiny power cells that people will clamor for, but I have a vision, and a man with a vision and proper motivation is unstoppable. Indeed.

Finally, up and going

My First post on a new blog. It has a good feel; like a new notebook.  I started this blog when I finally realized that Facebook was indeed consuming me. I still need a creative outlet though, and I had an old Myspace account, but that place is a ghost town!  So, blogger. It boasts some interesting features, like being able to quasi-integrate with my main page so that blog.solargridworks.com can redirect to it.
I quit Fakebook yesterday and have thankfully decided that there are several things far more important than social networking:

• Blogging - I do miss it. Used to do it all the time. My old blog over on Myspace was a lot of fun. All in all I think I have 350 some-odd posts there. It's been months and months since I've even logged in there, and have no desire to. So, this is the new incarnation.  A new place for my poems, rants, raves, and insights.
• Website Creation - Ahh yes... I have a site. It's in it's infancy. I noticed my site wasn't going anywhere largely due to the amount of time I found myself wasting on facebook.  So now, I devoting to pour at least 30 minutes of my day into some sort of site development. solargridworks.com was desinged with a singular purpose. To showcase different alternative energy solutions and provide not just platforms to sales, but a wealth of knowledge for anyone trying to DIY.
• Work - Fakebook was really really inhibiting my productivity.  I am regretful of the time wasted, duties shirked, and responsibilities overlooked.  I work at NTRONIC, a small computer store with a lot of soul. I love what I do, and I love being able to help people.  Even if SGW takes off in a big way, I'll still be there.  I can't picture anything else I'd rather do besides troubleshoot computer problems.  So, while Solar, Wind-turbine, Geothermal, and Crystal power are interests and hobbies, they don't pay the bills. not yet.  Not at all. 
• Spiritualism - While I can't outright blame my lack of focus on meditation and trying to achieve cosmic-oneness on Fakebook directly, I can say that it wasn't helping.  Staring blankly at an interface all day watching feeds for no reason other than trying to feel like I was more connected with people than I ever truly was.

I'm not trying to rip too hard on Facebook. I made some very good friends out of Facebook.  The proof will be as to whether or not those friendships survive the Exodus.

I've got some wonderful things in the works with SGW.  I am working on making power cells right now that for all intensive purposes we can call ki, prana, or even zero-point energy.  It's hard to describe, but once I have some cells made I'll try to produce a video of this "eternal battery" that seemingly violates physics (thermodynamics and entropy).  It doesn't violate quantum physics though. It utilizes the Casmir Effect. More to come. Stay tuned
